'Breakfast Club' Stars: Where Are They Now?

Coming-Of-Age Comedy Classic Released In 1985

The 1980s were dominated by the coming-of-age teen comedies by John Hughes, the late writer-director of such hits as "Sixteen Candles," "Pretty in Pink" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" -- but perhaps the movie that hit home the most with moviegoers was "The Breakfast Club."

Released on Feb. 15, 1985, "The Breakfast Club" took a look at high school detention in a whole new light. Debuting in theaters a year after "Sixteen Candles," the "Club" included "Candles" stars Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall, as well as Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.

The film took place in a high school library during an eight-hour detention session, which grouped together a privileged, popular girl (Ringwald), a jock (Estevez), a nerd (Hall), a rebel (Nelson) and an outcast (Sheedy).

The complete opposites begin the day on a collision course, but as the hours pass, the students begin to realize they may have more in common than meets the eye. One thing's for certain: they're all aggravated by the school's hard-nosed principal (Paul Gleason).

"The Breakfast Club" earned its place as a teen movie classic not only because of its memorable dialogue, but its great tunes, including Simple Minds' "Don't You," which implored with the lyric, "Don't you … forget about me."

After 25 years, fans haven't forgotten "The Breakfast Club," and time hasn't forgotten its stars. See what the stars are up to today with our Slideshow.
