Final Preparations Under Way For Jamboree

After a year of planning, organizers are making final preparations for one of the nation’s biggest country music festivals. “Jamboree In The Hills 2008” is less than a week away.

About 100,000 fans are expected to pack the hills in Morristown, Ohio, for the four-day event. Some campers have already arrived in Belmont County, camping on local resident’s property until the on-site campground opens on Sunday.

Jamboree organizers said everything is going well as crews are putting the finishing touches on the stage, working on the roads and putting up tents.

The county music spectacular began in 1977 as a two-day weekend but the popularity created a move to a larger area in Morristown in the '90s, expanding to the four-day event that it is today.

As the excitement for the summer attraction grows for all country fans, it’s also growing for hotels and businesses in the area.

The biggest names in country music will be among the star-studded line-up this year including Brad Paisley, Brooks and Dunn, Neal McCoy and Loretta Lynn, just to name a few.
