Mark your calendars for Pittsburgh Canine Companions DogFest featuring Snoopy® and Friends! October 27, 2012 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Admission: $25 minimum pledge Benefiting: Canine Companions for Independence® Saturday, October 27, the Pittsburgh volunteer group of Canine Companions for Independence® will host its first annual Canine Companions DogFest featuring Snoopy® and Friends at Peterswood Park in Venetia. Canine Companions DogFest is a family oriented, pet-friendly walk that raises funds for Canine Companions. For a minimum pledge of $25 participants enjoy a walk route with trick-or-treat stops along the way, a silent auction and a costume contest for both humans and dogs directly following the walk. Collect additional pledges for a chance at great prizes. While it costs approximately $45,000 to breed, train and place an assistance dog, Canine Companions' recipients receive the dogs free of charge. Private donations and fundraisers, such as Canine Companions DogFest, help to provide the necessary funds to continue enhancing the lives of people with disabilities through the placement of assistance dogs.
