Squeeze In Workouts -- Whenever, Wherever

Sometimes getting to the gym is a real struggle, but getting in shape doesn't have to be.

A good workout doesn't have to last for hours, said Jason Felici of Centertown Fitness.

"If it's during the five-day workweek , if they try and get in 30 minutes, I think that would be a good start," Felici said.

For those who find it difficult to dedicate an entire half-hour, experts suggest 10 minutes at a time.

"Take half your lunch or 20 minutes of your lunch. It's easy to find time if you're looking for it," said Jerry Duncan, of Ohio Valley Medical Center. "If you stagger the workout in three 10-minute breaks, there's 30 minutes of exercise. You can fit it in a busy eight -hour day."

There are also ways for people to get their heart rates up without leaving the office, such as walking up and down stairs for 20 minutes.

At home, Felici suggested getting exercise by mowing the lawn or doing some "intense gardening."

"Really, it's personal preference. It's what fits in your schedule and will work best for you," he said.
