ChESTER -- Allison Elementary School has been Going Green for several years.They have started a "Lights out, doors closed" program when no one is in a room with classrooms receiving an energy award and a treat after receiving so many awards.For the past six years the school has planted tulips in memory of veterans and to help with beautification and oxygen replenishment.The school has two greenhouses where the students start plants to plant around the school and community and to sell to the community.This year the school started recycling cell phones. They also recycle plastic, have recycled ink cartridges for the past five years, and have recycled cans for more than 10 years.
