Roadworthy Restaurant Features Environmentally Friendly Construction

WEST LIBERTY -- Several environmentally friendly technologies were incorporated into the construction of the Roadworthy Restaurant and Tavern, Eric Metz, general manager, said.The structure was designed by Schamu, Machowski and Greco Architects Inc. of Wheeling. The construction of the 5,200 square foot structure utilized geothermal heating and air conditioning, and eco-friendly lighting.The logs for the structure were certified to have been harvested from a reforested area and were not a product of clear cutting. The logs were purchased from Appalachian Log Structures Inc. of Ripley.Plans are to use biodegradable cleaning products and converting the oil from the kitchen into bio-diesel and to develop organic menu selections.
