Bethlehem Students Focus On Taking Care Of Earth, Serving Community

Friday, August 29, 2008 – updated: 11:22 am EDT September 8, 2008

Saving the earth one student at a time is just one of the goals at Our Lady of Peace Catholic School.

Students there know the importance of taking care of the earth and serving their community.

"We service first others, then ourselves," said Principal Ann Reilly.

To put those values into practice, they spend time gardening and recycling pop can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.

Even their playground is made of recycled tires, which Reilly said gives students a tremendous source of satisfaction to know they're making their world a better place.
