Steubenville City Schools Gets New Sports, Extracurricular Center

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Steubenville City Schools will soon have a new 75,000 square-foot multipurpose building that includes batting cages, a wrestling room and indoor turf.Superintendent Mike McVey said the facility will be used for many different activities. The building will be used for gym classes and after-school activities."The band will be able to practice here. We'll be able to do softball and baseball practice … in here with the three batting cages," McVey said.The facility cost around $600,000 and was paid for with money left over from the Ohio School Facility Commission. McVey said the building should be in use by next week.Thursday, the district will have a public dedication ceremony followed by an open house.
