Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves optioned slumping outfielder Jeff Francoeur to Double-A Mississippi on Friday.

Francoeur went 0-for-4 against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night, dropping his batting average to .234.

The 24-year-old former first round pick has a .287 on-base percentage and a .374 slugging percentage and batted just .206 in June.

Last season, Francoeur hit .293 with 19 home runs and 105 runs batted in.
