Anchor/Reporter

Greetings, Ohio Valley!

It's been an honor to bring the news home to you for nearly a decade. Working with such a positive, hardworking and talented team at WTOV9 -- they've become my second family.

Though I'm a Pittsburgh native, the Ohio Valley has always been close to my heart since it's where my father grew up. I remember stories he would tell about the famous DiCarlo's Pizza trips with his childhood friends from Lansing to Wheeling Island, and summers spent in the back yard fishing or skipping rocks in the creek.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998, I spent time at WPGH Fox 53 in Pittsburgh news writing. Then, in October of that same year, I joined the news team here at WTOV and the whirlwind began. I was first hired as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter, then began waking up with you on NEWS9 Sunrise. In September 2003, I joined Eric Minor in co-anchoring NEWS9 Live at Five and NEWS9 at Six. In addition to co-anchoring the evening newscasts, I also co-anchor NEWS9 Midday.

So here we are, just a few years later, and how time has flown! In November, 2007, my husband Gary and I welcomed our first child into the world, Arwyn Sophia.

Gary, graduated from Penn Trafford High School in Westmoreland County, Pa. and I graduated from Penn Hills High School in Allegheny County. Needless to say, once football season comes around, its always exciting at our house - our high schools are big rivals! We still enjoy watching our respective high school teams, and love checking out the local high school games as well.

In our spare time (when Gary and I can find it,) we enjoy training in martial arts, running, playing softball, basketball and bike riding. We're avid moviegoers, Gary is a huge history buff and I love curling up with a good book. We read the Bible together every morning to start our day; I love reading any Spanish language book to keep my second language fresh, along with any book on child psychology.

Well, I'm going to wrap up for now, but let me thank you on behalf of the NEWS9 team for welcoming us into your homes every morning, noon and night. We're very excited about our commitment to communities up and down the Ohio Valley and covering events that are important to you.

I'll see you around-- and be sure to say "Hi!"
