Ohio Approves Smoking Ban

Change is in the air at many Ohio businesses next month as voters approve a tough statewide smoking ban.

The smoking ban applies to all buildings outside the home except for tobacco shops, designated hotel rooms and enclosed areas in nursing homes.

The new law will prohibit smoking in Ohio bars, restaurants, and workplaces.

George Sergakis, the owner of Yorgo's restaurant in Steubenville, said he agrees with the new law and said if everyone is banned nobody is going to lose business.

Jeff Blumenauer, Associate Manager of Applebee's restaurant in Steubenville, said he doesn't think the elimination of designated smoking areas will hurt his business.
