Two More Accused In Home Burglary

West Virginia State Police arrested two more people in connection with a stolen safe in Marshall County.

Joe Payne and Daniel McFayden are charged with nighttime burglary and conspiracy.

Police said the men broke into an Allendale Road home in Mt. Olivet. When they saw the safe, they allegedly left the home and contacted Craig Hooper, who police said is an experienced safe-cracker. Police said Hooper then went back to the home and stole the safe.

Hooper was previously arrested with his girlfriend at a Mozart home and faces numerous charges.

When Hooper was arrested, police were originally investigating him for the Mt. Olivet case and said he had outstanding warrants. During the arrest, Marshall County deputies said they were also investigating Hooper in connection with other burglaries.

Police said all of the investigations are connected.

Trooper Mike Hogan of the West Virginia State Police said, "They had quite the ring going on as far as burglaries go. There are investigations ongoing, (and) there may be other charges pending on the three."

Payne, McFayden and Hooper remain in the Northern Regional Jail.
