A dangerous stretch of roadway known as The Narrows has received a facelift and is open to traffic once again. In March 2005, a rock and mud slide caused an accident that killed one man and injured five others. The accident prompted officials to install a protective fence -- similar to one along State Route 2 near Moundsville -- to keep rocks from falling on the highway.Northbound traffic has been limited to one lane since construction started nine months ago on the $3 million project.West Virginia Division of Highway's officials said the fence won't stop major slides, but it will help slow them.-Renee Cardelli & Jackie Cain, NEWS9
