While there are just five active cases at the each of two local care centers, NEWS9 has learned that other cases have been discovered around the state.

The latest report from Dr. William Mercer of the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department stated that there are 5 active cases at the Peterson Rehabilitation and Geriatric Center. That is down from 55 confirmed cases.

There are 5 active suspected cases reported at Continuous Care Center, which is down from 28.

Norovirus can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea. It spreads fast – usually by touching surfaces that haven’t been properly cleaned.
