Search Continues For Missing Father, Son

Posted: 12:32 pm EST December 20, 2006Updated: 1:38 pm EST December 20, 2006

The search continued Wednesday for a father and son from eastern Ohio who have been missing for a week.

Investigators hoped cell phones would help locate David Decker, 32, and his father Ernest "Bob" Decker, 52.

Earlier this week, investigators dragged a pond and searched a home but did not find any clues to help find the men.

Authorities are searching for a car the men borrowed, a red 1997 Mercury Tracer with Ohio license plate DD18QL.

Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams said Bob Decker told a friend he was going to have therapy on his arm and asked the post office to hold his paycheck there.

"He never picked up the check; never went to therapy. It's just like they vanished. Neither one of them have money," Williams said.

Over the weekend, friends found Bob Decker's truck on his property in Brown Township. The keys were in the ignition with a pair of blood-stained glasses in the truck bed.

Family members told investigators the glasses were Bob Decker's, but DNA test results are pending.

The sheriff's department is also checking the Deckers' cell phone records.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
