Sheriff: Person Of Interest In Case Of Missing Men

A person of interest is in custody in the case of a father and son who have been missing for more than a week, the sheriff's department said.

Ernest Bob Decker and his son David Decker haven't been seen since last Wednesday. Police said a man is being question about the disappearances.

"No one has heard from these two,” said Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams. “Both carry cell phones, both phones automatically go to voicemail when you call the phones."

The last time they were seen, David Decker was on his way to see his father in Brown Township. His dad was supposed to get therapy on his arm. According to police, he called the post office and asked them to hold his check, but he never picked it up.

Police went to the Decker's home and found Bob Decker’s bloody glasses inside his truck. Now they are running DNA tests.

Ernie Decker, a relative, said he fears the worst. "He is not the kind of person that seeks trouble, but he is the type of person that wouldn't back down if there was a conflict," said Decker.

Police said they don't have concrete evidence of fowl play, but Saturday they said they had one man in custody. The sheriff confirmed that he is a person of interest in the disappearance.

The man was arrested on unrelated charges, and police aren't yet releasing his identity.
