State Senator: Take Another Look At ATV Laws

In light of recent ATV deaths in the Ohio Valley, West Virginia State Sen. Jeff Kessler said the state legislature should take another look at an ATV bill.

"It's a dangerous instrument. It's like giving a loaded gun to someone who's not trained to handle it," said Kessler.

The bill died in the legislature during the last session, Kessler said it was because of misinformation.

Now he wants revive the bill that would stop ATV’s from being driven on paved highways.

"If you get them off the highway I think you'll probably see the death toll reduced at least in half," said Kessler.

West Virginia set a record for ATV-related deaths in 2006 with 53.
