Dean Martin Festival Under Way

Steubenville’s having a big weekend as people from all over the country flock to the Dean Martin Festival to honor the legendary singer, actor and comedian.

Dino Crosetti was born in Steubenville and attended Big Red High School.

One of Dean Martin's biggest fans is Regis Philbin, who earlier Friday morning had this to say on his morning show: "Do you know what this weekend is? This is the weekend they celebrate Dean Martin Day out there in Steubenville, Ohio. This is a whole weekend of fun out there. It's funny how when you’re a performer with TV shows, movies, and recordings, you never leave...you really do live forever...I hope they have a great time out there."

Regis was a grand marshal in the Dean Martin Parade in Steubenville three years ago and talks about the festival every year.

There are a plethora of activities planned for this weekend:

Friday's Events

  • 1:30-3:30 p.m. - Deana’s Book and CD signing to be held at Steubenville Kroger
  • 5-8 p.m. - Deana Martin roast, dinner, and auction will be held at the Steubenville Country Club. (This event is sold out).
  • 8 p.m. - Dean Martin Tribute Show at the Spot Bar on Fourth Street in Steubenville
  • Saturday's Events

  • 9-12 noon - Breakfast sponsered by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Spot Bar deck.

  • 12 noon - Mass held St. Anthony's Church
  • 1:30 p.m. - Parade
  • 2-5 p.m. - Dean Martin Festival Comittee Festival Show held at the Spot Bar. (Free)
  • 8 p.m. - Dean Martin Tribute Show also held at the Spot Bar
  • Sunday's Events

  • 11-3 p.m. - Dino's Father's Day Buffet will be held at Froechlich's (740) 283-9901
  • 7 p.m. - Dean Martin Horserace at Mountaineer Racetrack and Gaming Resort
  • The Dean Martin Festival will run Friday through Sunday.
