Special Section: Jamboree In The Hills

Thousands of Jamboree In The Hills fans lined up and slept in the rain Thursday morning for the annual Redneck Run, a race to the best spot near the stage.

They line up by thousands to the starting line and then the race begins for the front row. This year, it's off to a muddy, soggy start.

"We've handled these kind of conditions before. It could snow, and we'd be up front hanging on the fence," said one fan of the music festival.

"The rain didn't deter anybody. We slept through the rain. That was kind of lousy, sleeping under a tarp. We have mud in our blood, that's why it makes it better," said another fan.

Some fans said they've been doing this for years, and they've got this run down to a science.

"You've got to roll your tarp perfect," one participant said.

And all fans in the run agree that its the front row coveted corner spot that makes it all worthwhile.

"This is what we come for every year. This is why we sleep in line, this is why we do it," explained a fan.
