Convenience Stores Help Jambo Fans, Charities

Friday, July 20, 2007 – updated: 1:02 pm EDT July 20, 2007

When a country music fan walks around Jamboree in the Hills this year, there are plenty of food vendors to choose from.

And now even if fans need anything found at a convenience store, such as ice, sunblock or aspirin, that's covered too.

There are several Molnar General Stores set up under tents that sell everything from snacks to first-aid medicine.

The workers of these convenience stores said that half of the proceeds go to charities and organizations in the Ohio Valley.

"I think it's really beneficial, especially because we sell ice and stuff that everyone comes up here to get," said Melissa Padyjasak, one of the workers. "We get money and donate to rural family kids camps and the Martins Ferry band."

Each store picks a different charity to help. There are three general stores inside the grounds and one in each campsite.
