A rare fish usually found in the Amazon River, or near the rainforest, has been found in the Ohio River.George Palmer said he caught a red belly piranha right under the Interstate 470 overpass on the West Virginia side of the river, near Wheeling. It's about eight inches long, but the average size for that type of fish is about four or five inches.Piranhas are known for their sharp, fierce teeth, which made Palmer wonder with what you're really swimming if you take a dip in the river."I don't think it will happen again. I've been fishing at least 10-15 years and never caught anything like that," he said.Unfortunately, Palmer and his girlfriend found the fish belly-up in the tank Thursday morning. But they do plan on having it mounted so they can always keep the rare find.
