Wednesday, October 3, 2007 – updated: 12:57 pm EDT October 3, 2007

Harrison County teachers who are on strike said they were upset about the delay of substitute teachers arriving at Westgate Elementary School in Cadiz on Wednesday.

Union spokeswoman Linda Rusen said many students were having recess at times when they are normally in their classrooms.

Harrison Hills School Superintendent Jim Drexler said they were short a few substitutes at the start of the day, but later in the morning had a full compliment of teachers at the school.

Drexler said he is waiting to hear from the federal mediator as to when the two sides will meet again.

The strike is in its third day. Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.
