Harrison Hills Superintendent Says Every Contract Worker Passed Background Checks

Thursday, Harrison Hills Superintendent Jim Drexler said every substitute teacher and security guard who has been brought in during the strike did pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check.However, Drexler was unable to show the complete background checks to NEWS9 or parents because he said it is personal information. Drexler said if any of the contract workers failed the background check, they wouldn’t be allowed into the schools.Drexler supplied NEWS9 with the application and state teaching licensees for all the 60-70 substitute teachers teaching in the district during the strike.A news conference was scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday.
