Federal Mediator To Meet With Harrison Hills Officials, Union

Friday, October 5, 2007

A federal mediator will meet with the Harrison Hills school board and striking teachers, officials said Friday.

The mediation will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday. Superintendent Jim Drexler said he is pleased the meeting has been scheduled.

County leaders said they want both sides to meet and try to end the strike for both safety reasons and the students' sake.

Over the five-day strike, four injuries have been reported on the picket lines, and parents have been debating whether to send their children to school.
