Teacher Union, School Board In Court
The Harrison Hills City School’s School Board, teachers and their lawyers met at the Harrison County courthouse for a hearing to look for probably cause in contempt of a court order. The teachers' association said the board violated a picketing agreement last week. But when the two sides arrived in court, Judge Michael Nunner sent the two sides to separate meeting rooms, saying while both sides were here, it was an opportunity for them to possibly restart negotiations and consider the impact of the strike on the community. Also Monday the board filed a motion alleging that the teachers violated the picketing agreement.A hearing for that could be scheduled at a later date.NEWS9 is waiting on word as to whether the board and the teachers association will decide to negotiate or choose to go on with the hearing over the picketing agreement violation.
