Charges are filed against a labor consultant in the Harrison Hills school strike who claims a van ran over his foot on the picket lines.

John Avouris said he had to go to the hospital after a security van hired by the school district ran over his foot during last month's strike.

Harrison County prosecutor Shawn Hervey said Avouris didn't tell the truth in his report to police.

Avouris pleaded not guilty to the charges Thursday morning. The case was bound over to county court.

If found guilty, Avouris could spend as much as six months in jail and be fined $1,000.
