Officials said permits for an Ohio County theme park could be here any day.Steve Minard, project developer for the Wild Escape Theme Park, said he is awaiting public comments that the Army Corps is currently gathering. The comment period ended on Feb. 1, but Minard said the corps is likely accepting responses sent in after that date. The corps will let the developer and the county know of any issues that agencies like the EPA and the Fish and Wildlife Service may have with the mitigation plans. The plans show how the developer will reduce the impact on the environment.Minard said they have also submitted detailed mitigation plans to the corps, which is separate from the plans about which the corps is currently collecting comments. He said completing those detailed plans is a good sign of the project's progress."It's a much higher level of detail. It's almost like the architect's work for a building," he said.Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.-Renee Cardelli & Jasmine Lo, NEWS9
