STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- Steubenville's two major road connectors on Lover's Lane and John Scott Highway reopened Friday morning after being closed due to inclement weather.Joe DeSantis, Steubenville street superintendent, said both road connectors reopened around 4:45 a.m.The connectors were shut down early Friday morning because the city didn't have enough salt for the roads, but 1,200 tons of salt were received Friday morning.Prior to the delivery, the state garage in Wintersville donated the road salt to the crews in Steubenville to treat the roads.Crews had been out monitoring road conditions and working throughout the early morning to make sure roads were passable. As of 8 a.m., Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty was still asking drivers to stay off the roads if possible. For up-to-the-minute local weather coverage, visit our weather section and watch Weather Plus live. You can also check out our Severe Weather Team 9 Blog, and don't forget to show off your weather photos in our community slideshow.
