The John Scott Highway connector and the Lovers Lane connector in Steubenville were both shut down early Friday morning because the city didn't have enough salt for the roads.Joe DeSantis, the Street Superintendent, said his crews were expecting 1,200 tons of salt. Thomas Fuller, from the Street Department, said the salt was supposed to come from Cleveland. As of right now, his department still doesn't have the salt supply requested and said they might not get it until as late as Saturday.DeSantis said he it was the state garage from Wintersville that donated the road salt to the crews in Steubenville.Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty is still asking drivers to stay off the roads if possible.
