Several Precincts Moving Due To Flooding Concerns

Three precincts in Jefferson County are moving to higher ground because of flooding concerns.

Voters who go to the Irondale Fire Department or the Saline Township Complex to cast their ballot will be directed to the Irondale Elementary School.

Voters in the Glen Robbins precinct in the southern end of Jefferson County who usually vote at the Glen Robbins Presbyterian Church will be voting at the Yorkville VFW at 123 Market Street.

In Harrison County, the Monroe Township precinct has been moved from the Bowerston Community Park to the Bowerstown fire department.

Signs will be posted at any precinct that is affected, directing voters where to go. All polls close at 7:30 p.m.

"We should not have any complications as long as we can get word out to all the voters," said Diane Shimp, the director of the Jefferson County Board of Elections.

Volunteers worked late Monday night trying to get the precincts ready for Tuesday's election.
