UPDATED: 12:08 pm EDT March 30, 2008

An ambulance and a car collided Saturday morning after police said the car pulled out in front of the ambulance.

According to the Allegheny County Coroner's Office, the driver is Jackie George, 51, from Steubenville, Ohio. She had to be transported to Trinity Medical Center and then she was flown by a medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. She later died at 6:44 p.m. from multiple trama to the chest.

The crash happened on Sunset Boulevard as the ambulance traveling westbound was responding to another call when the driver of the car pulled into the left lane, according to police.

Police said the ambulance had its lights flashing and sirens blaring as the driver attempted to make a left turn while the ambulance was trying to pass.
