Horse No Longer Stranded On Cliff

POWHATAN POINT, Ohio --
2 P.M. UPDATE:Around 11 a.m. Saturday, NEWS9 learned the 3-year-old horse is no longer stranded on the high cliff above Route 7, near Powhatan Point.Rescue crews arrived Saturday morning to resume the rescue efforts to find the horse was no longer on the cliff. After a plane flew over, The Humane Society of the United States officials determined the horse made its way from the top of the cliff to a nearby hill overnight.It's still unclear who owns the horse.NEWS9's Jasmine Lo has been following the rescue efforts for this horse since they began. She is back at the scene following the latest details and will have updates on NEWS9 and WTOV9.com.
Friday, rescue crews used ATVs vehicles to ride the hillside to try to rescue a horse that was stranded since Thursday.The crews looked at paint markings on the coat of the horse to confirm it was a stallion.A veterinarian made it out on the ledge Friday night to visually inspect the horse and the report came back stable. They also provided the horse with hay and a bucket of water so it can nourish itself throughout the night.Friday night, rescue workers from The Humane Society of the United States were called in from Washington, D.C.
