Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said the death of a Dillonvale teen is being ruled an accidental overdose of oxycodone.

The sheriff’s office and Dillonvale police are investigating why and how this could have happened.

The 15-year-old boy was found unresponsive at his Smithfield Street home on May 4.

The boy was later pronounced dead at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
