It’s one of the most bizarre cases the Marshall County Sheriff said he’s ever seen.A Cleveland man allegedly trying to sell drugs in Marshall County ended up hospitalized after allegedly trying to swallow the evidence, but the story doesn’t end there.According to investigators, the man swallowed at least six grams of crack cocaine, which could be a fatal dose.Investigators said the Cleveland suspect, William Baker, and a Powhatan Point man allegedly stole a car in Bellaire Friday. The owner of the car spotted the car in Moundsville on Saturday and called 911.Marshall County deputies said they stopped the car outside the Moundsville Dairy Queen and took the two suspects into custody. It was then that investigators believe Baker hid the evidence in his buttocks, but when processing him at the department, investigators said he shoved it in his mouth and tried running.Sheriff John Gruzinskas said several deputies tackled Baker and had to shoot him with a Taser. Deputies said he still swallowed several rocks of crack. At last check, Baker was still in the intensive care unit at Reynolds Memorial Hospital. All charges in this case are still pending.Gruzinskas believes the case will be turned over to federal investigators because of the amount of crack involved.
