WHEELING, W. Va. -- "History is rich," that's according to West Virginia Governor Joe Machin and that is one of the reasons the Independence Hall Museum will be getting the much needed repairs.Monday afternoon, the governor, along with the Wheeling mayor and other legislatures met inside the third floor court room to address the problems the museum is having. The $1 million restoration project will fix the plaster that is crumbing off the walls of the court room, also roof repairs that is causing leaks. The money will also restore or replace the windows on the structure as well and refurbished rooms to accommodate new and expanded exhibits. In the past 22 months, the museum has already received just over $1 million to make upgrades to the museum, adding this one million on top of it. The final number is $2.25 million. The improvements to the museum will start shortly and people should be noticing the upgrades over the upcoming months.
