Scrap metal thieves have struck again.

Saline Township patrolman James Lackey told NEWS9 more than 180 feet of telephone line was cut and removed near Old Ohio Rte. 7.

More than 300 homes were left without telephone service along County Rd. 51, State Rt. 213 and Township Rd. 456, police said.

Cellular service in that area of Jefferson County is extremely spotty, so Township police are patrolling that area until phone service is restored.
