The polls in West Virginia are now closed but some problems were reported in Hancock County earlier Tuesday.

Some voting machines in Weirton have been having problems and voters said they have been waiting in line since 3:30 p.m. to cast their ballots.

Voters at Weirton Heights Elementary School were just starting to cast their ballots at 6 p.m. after voters said they ran out of paper.

Some voters waited up to two hours to cast their ballot because of the paper shortage.

Voters said they were told at 3:30 p.m. that they would have to wait until more paper was brought from another polling place.

Some voters who waited it out said many people simply left and didn’t vote.

Election officials said that there was a high voter turnout and they were aware of the problems with the paper supply.

Election officials also said they thought the problem would be resolved in 10-15 minutes but voters said it took up to two hours to resolve.
