Jefferson County Road 56 Closed Due To Landslide
Rocks, boulders and trees came tumbling down Tuesday, completely covering both lanes of county Road 56 in Jefferson County.According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, it’s making an already difficult situation on that road even worse.The slide happened just about in the middle of the county as county Road 56 is near Costonia.Sheriff’s deputies said they got calls Tuesday night about rocks, boulders and trees tumbling down and covering the road.A new bridge is being built on the southern part of the road, closing that section.Now there is no way to get through the road.There was no reports of any injuries.
