Hit-And-Run Suspect Says She's Innocent

Amanda Hudock was inside a St. Clairsville courtroom Thursday and told a judge she’s innocent of hitting Mary Carroll with a car and killing her last month.A courtroom full of people watched as 22-year-old Hudock entered the courtroom. Hudock is the woman accused of hitting 23-year old Mary Carroll with a car in downtown St. Clairsville and fleeing the scene.After Hudock’s court appearance she was sent to the Belmont County Jail.“Bond was set, therefore she was taken to the jail to be photographed, fingerprinted and booked. If she posts that, there are certain restrictions, including absolutely no contact with any family member of the victim,” said Belmont County Prosecutor Chris Berhalter.Police said the deadly blow happened at the corner of Newell Avenue and Butler. Police found Carroll lying in the road. There are still many unanswered questions related to Carroll’s death. Police are asking for patience in this case.Police believe Hudock was behind the wheel when Carroll was struck and she’s charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. If convicted she could spend five years in prison and have her license permanently suspended.Hudock’s bond is set at $10,000.
