Friends, family and loved ones gathered early Saturday afternoon in Colerain for the funeral of the missing World War II airman, Ernest "Glenn" Munn.Munn went missing back in 1942 after his World War II plane crashed into the California mountains, and his remains were just discovered this past summer. The funeral was held at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, and the remains of Munn were buried at Holly Memorial Gardens. The sister of the missing airman, Jeanne Pyle, told NEWS9 she is humbled by the fact that hundreds of civilians, veterans and military personnel came together for Munn's funeral.Pyle and her two sisters got to meet the man who found their brother's remains, Peter Stekel, at the funeral.Stekel was moved to tears when NEWS9 asked how he felt to be at the ceremony, and he said it was truly a special day he will never forget. The sisters told NEWS9 Munn's return home and his burial are events that have truly been an answer to their prayers."We just think God arranged this for us because he knew we wanted it so badly," Pyle said. Two other airman are still missing from the flight that Munn was on, and the sisters told NEWS9 now that their brother is home they wish the best to the families still searching for answers.
