OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. -- "It is highly suspicious," said Cpl. James Dean with the West Virginia State Police. That's what state police are saying about an unoccupied trailer on Second Street in the Valley View Addition area of Ohio County."At this point we are ruling it arson," Dean said.Yellow caution tape now surrounds the trailer, where neighbor Sara Hamby saw a slew of firefighters and police arrive at the scene just after the fire started Friday morning."Fire trucks backing down the way, and there was two state troopers, there was an ambulance, there was two fire trucks," Hamby said.It was just minutes before the fire was out, causing minor damage to one bedroom of the home."They asked us a bunch of questions," said Hamby.Hamby said those questions were about who was in the area at the time of the fire. Eyewitnesses told police there was a man was near the home just minutes after the fire started."That same unknown male was seen entering the residence five to 10 minutes before the fire started," Dean said."It was actually our second night here,” said Hamby. “And we had moved into this area and that's what we get our second night we move in."Neighbors said the state fire marshal was on the scene again Saturday morning. State police are waiting on evidence they collected at the scene to be analyzed at a lab in Charleston. They have a suspect in mind and plan to make an arrest very soon.
