The Hancock County Health Department is giving potassium iodide, or KI tablets, Tuesday to people in the northern part of Hancock County who live, work and attend school within the 10-mile emergency planning zone of the Beaver Valley Power Station, in case they become exposed to radiation.Residents can get the pills at the drive-through clinic at Tomlinson Run State Park.Officials said taking the KI tablets is strictly voluntary and should only be done at the direction of the state.Officials said the tablets they previously gave out have now expired. The tablets are given out in case of an accident at the plant.
