Man Injured In Brooke County ATV Crash

Officials in Brooke County said a steep hill in a wooded area of the county is now the site of two ATV crashes within the same week.

EMS officials said a local man is Wheeling Hospital, suffering from non-life threatening injuries after he wrecked his ATV around 7 p.m. Saturday.

An EMS captain with the Bethany Pike Fire Department told NEWS9 the crash happened in the woods a mile off of the Commerce Street Extension in Wellsburg.

He said the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Officials did not release the name of the victim, who is in his 40s or 50s.

The captain said this time of year is when the most ATV crashes happen because children are out of school and the weather is favorable.
