Tuesday, June 24, 2008 – updated: 1:26 pm EDT June 24, 2008

If you're looking for a job or career opportunity in the Wheeling area, now there's a Web site that provides information you need while on the job hunt.

Several groups in the Wheeling area worked together to develop the site, which lets people in the area know about new career opportunities and who's hiring. It's called www.takemehomeohiovalley.com.

The Regional Economic Development Partnership (RED), Direct Online Marketing and Verizon West Virginia have been working with local colleges and universities to develop the site.

Organizers said the site is a way for companies to search for qualified employees and anyone looking for a job can get a look at the area's opportunities.

"Currently there are in excess of 100 good jobs listed on the site. Vice president positions, deans of local colleges that pay good wages and benefits," said Don Rigby, executive director of RED.

Local residents can register on the site to be notified of new career opportunities.
