New Urgent Care Facility Opens In Wheeling

WHEELING, W.Va. -- Local people now have another option when it comes to urgent health care. City leaders and Med Express employees gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to officially open the facility to the public.Med Express has 11 exam rooms and one physician always on staff. It is in the new building on the former Marhefka's Auto site on National Road.Staff members said they will treat anything from a minor cough to injuries needing stitches and X-rays. The company's CEO said he has connections to Wheeling and is excited to bring his business to the area."When I look at the demographics and the access and the need, I think Wheeling's the perfect fit and we're absolutely thrilled to be here," said CEO Frank Alderman.Med Express is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. It accepts most major insurance and offers discounts to people without medical coverage.
