One-Hundred and Forty-Six marijuana plants, two firearms, a rifle, and a shotgun are what deputies in Jefferson County said they found in a home off of State Route 152 in Smithfield early Sunday morning.

Deputies say they found the plants along the home’s yard, and also found what they believe to be bags of marijuana seeds.

Police said the man suspected of growing the plants cooperated with them, claiming he used them for medical purposes in order to relive anxiety.

Police are still working to determine the street value of the plants.
