Fatal Holiday Crash Leaves Elderly Man Dead

WEIRTON, W. Va. -- An elderly man who police said drove the wrong way on Route 22 Westbound Friday afternoon died after a head-on crash.Emergency responders had to use the Jaws of Life to get the man out of his vehicle.The crash happened between the Main St and Harmon Creek Road exits.One driver who was on the road at the time told NEWS9 what she witnessed."I was startled and it shook me up. I had to swerve out of the way and did that successfully," said Kayla Thomas.The crash is still being investigated.
