Fourth Body Pulled From Ohio River; Circumstances 'Suspicious'

An investigation is under way after a body was pulled from the Ohio River. It makes the fourth body found in the river in just the past couple of months.

According to a press release sent to NEWS9, the Brooke County 911 got a call from boaters around 10 p.m. Wednesday, saying they found a body near the mouth of Short Creek.

Brooke County deputies and crews from the Windsor Heights Volunteer Department retrieved the body from the water.

The press release continued to say the body has not been identified and circumstances surrounding the body have been called suspicious by investigators.

The body has been sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation. The investigation will be conducted by the Brooke County Sheriff's Office.
