The owners of the Apex Sanitary Landfill in Jefferson County will make their pitch for permission to expand their operations to local residents Thursday.

The company is holding a public meeting at Springfield Middle School at 7 p.m.

The landfill operator is requesting to double the amount of out-of-state garbage brought to the site.
