Residents continue to voice concerns that the smell may get worse if more garbage comes to the Apex Landfill. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and representatives from Apex gave presentations about the status of the plan. Both parties stressed that they are still in the application phase but residents said they feel their complaints weren’t being heard.“This is very early in the process. This is where the applicant has the public hearing. We actually have not begun to revive the permit application. The purpose of tonight’s meeting is for the applicant to let the community know what they are asking for,” said Heidi Griesner of the Ohio EPA.The EPA and the Jefferson County Board of Health said they will continue to work with Apex to come up with a solution.Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.
